digital service locating
Do you need to locate underground electricity or telephone cables before you start any works? With improved technology, underground pipe and cable location has become even easier to help understand your working space. Electronic detection is by far the most safe and accurate method of locating underground services. We use EMF (Electromagnetc Field) technology to locate pipes and cables beneath the surface and by using a receiver we can ‘trace’ the alignment and depth of the service in question
Below are some of the areas where our service to provide underground pipe and cable locations can be helpful and effective:
- Domestic water services
- Fire services
- Gas
- Telecommunications
- Electrical
- Storm water
- Sewer or drainage
ground penetrating radar (GPR)
What is a GPR and when would it be useful?
The Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) is the tool of choice for those who need to quickly and easily identify the presence of buried utility infrastructure, both metallic and non-metallic.
Ground-penetrating radar is a geophysical method that uses radar pulses to image the subsurface. This nondestructive method uses electromagnetic radiation in the microwave band of the radio spectrum, and detects the reflected signals from subsurface structures. GPR can have applications in a variety of media, including rock, soil, ice, fresh water, pavements and structures. In the right conditions, practitioners can use GPR to detect subsurface objects, changes in material properties, and voids and cracks.
Wide Range of Scanning:
There are many areas in which Ground Penetrating Radar imaging can be useful. They include:
- Footpath and road subsurface investigation
- Underground utilities (non metallic services)
- Concrete footing investigation
- Buried pit covers
- Underground voids or disturbances
- Tree root assessment
- Sub surface investigation such as detecting presence of rock, bedrock, soil layering and changes in soil density

Site survey and drafting
We offer professional underground service drawings which show locations of all underground services located, approximate depths and offsets to underground services as requested.
Drawings can be provided to the client if requested in Auto CAD version and also in PDF by a professional draftsperson.
